Daily Rate: £116 - £140 initially, increasing to £162.31 - £223.62 from week 13 under AWR (Agency Workers' Regulations)
Humly is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Primary Teacher to join our network of schools in Burnley. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the educational journey of children with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging, tailored lessons that align with the National Curriculum, ensuring lessons are accessible and enjoyable for SEN pupils.
2. Create and maintain an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment, fostering confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
3. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
4. Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure each pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.
5. Manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and other evidence-based techniques to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
6. Plan and deliver differentiated activities that promote personalised learning and cater to various sensory, physical, and cognitive needs.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory for this role.
2. Proven experience teaching and supporting children with special educational needs in a primary school setting.

1. Adaptability and Creativity: The ability to design and deliver innovative, engaging lessons that address the diverse needs of SEN learners.
2. Patience and Empathy: A calm, understanding approach to help pupils overcome challenges and feel supported.
3. Behaviour Management: Proficiency in using positive behaviour reinforcement techniques to maintain a safe and structured environment.
4. Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
5. Knowledge of SEN Strategies: A solid understanding of different SEN conditions, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and sensory impairments, along with strategies to support these learners effectively.
6. Organisational Skills: The ability to plan, assess, and track pupil progress while managing the administrative demands of the role.
7. Collaboration and Teamwork: Willingness to work closely with teaching assistants, school staff, and external agencies to create a cohesive support system for pupils.
8. Resilience and Dedication: Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, even in the face of challenges.
9. ICT Proficiency: Competence in using technology to support teaching, learning, and communication with parents and staff.
