Vickerstock are delighted to be partnering with our Food Manufacturing client committed to quality and integrity within all operations on the appointment of Technical Assistant. They supply into the chilled and frozen retail, food service and food manufacturing sectors from their production base in Craigavon.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be a key part of the factory team, ensuring technical integrity in all areas.
What a typical day as Technical Assistant will look like:
* Work with the Technical Manager in all relevant Technical and QA areas.
* Help maintain BRC accreditation and ensure site compliance with BRC standards.
* Assist the Technical Manager to ensure the company maintains other relevant accreditations, such as RSPO, Red Tractor, and Bord Bia.
* Ensure site compliance with Tesco Food Standard and additional relevant modules.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues.
* Work with the Production Manager to ensure that all production activity and work practices meet the required standards.
* Work closely with Customers / Statutory Bodies during factory visits and audits, providing formal responses.
* Collaborate with production and stores departments to drive improvement in technical standards and performance.
* Ensure that all QA related paperwork is completed, recorded, and filed accurately.
* Understand the role of the Technical Manager and cover this area in their absence.
* Analyze microbiological and chemical results/trends and report any out of specification results to the Technical Manager.
* Set a good example and encourage others to follow.
* Ensure relevant personnel are trained and following procedures regarding identification, segregation, and maintaining traceability of Bord Bia MPQAS raw materials and products through intake, storage, production, and dispatch.
Your essential ingredients:
* Experience working in the Food Manufacturing/FMCG industry, ideally in food safety, quality, or technical areas.
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g., Food Science.
