Position: CFD Fire Engineer Location: London Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid options available – 2-3 days in the office) Package: Base salary between 50k - 65k, depending on experience Role Overview We are looking for a CFD Fire Engineer to join our client in the UK, a specialised fire safety consultancy. This role focuses on using Computational Fluid Dynamics to analyse fire scenarios in buildings, ensuring that fire safety standards are met through detailed engineering assessments. You will play a crucial role in modelling fire and smoke movement, advising clients, and refining our client's technical approaches to fire safety engineering. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, with a strong foundation in fluid dynamics and experience in CFD. Experience in fire engineering or construction is not mandatory This role offers excellent training and development opportunities within a supportive team, ensuring you build expertise in fire safety. Key Responsibilities CFD Modelling & Analysis: Perform detailed CFD simulations to assess fire and smoke behavior in complex building environments. Analyse fire spread, smoke movement, and the effectiveness of safety systems like fans and vents. Project Support Contribute to project delivery by preparing reports, presenting technical findings, and advising clients on fire safety strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations, guidelines, and client objectives. Technical Development & Support Collaborate with the engineering team to improve CFD modelling techniques and approaches. Support junior team members by sharing knowledge and mentoring them in technical areas. Qualifications & Experience Required A degree in engineering, with a focus on fluid dynamics. At least 2 years’ experience working as an engineer, specifically having CFD modeling experience. Ability to translate CFD results into practical fire safety recommendations. Strong problem-solving skills, with an analytical approach to assessing fire risk scenarios. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
