January 2025 Start
Oakfield Junior School is a two-form entry junior school, offering a beautiful setting, with excellent facilities and resources, supportive staff and enthusiastic children. We are committed to inclusive practices, the achievement of high standards and working in close partnership with parents and the community.
We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our school. Your primary focus will be to support LAN Centre children with their learning. We would welcome applicants with experience within a SEND TA role.
The vacancy is for 25 hours per week worked over 4 days (8.30am – 3.15pm) during term time (38.6 weeks per year). We will consider applications for reduced hours but will need a commitment of at least 4 afternoons per week (1pm – 3.15pm). Please indicate on your application form if this is the case.
The successful candidate will:
• Understand how children learn and recognise the abilities of those in their care
• Be energetic and creative, to motivate and inspire pupils in their care
• Have high expectations of children in their care, in the areas of achievement and behaviour
• Promote our values – the 5C’s – courage, confidence, curiosity, co-operation, caring.
• Be able to work proactively, using set objectives to plan and deliver activities to enable pupils to attain expectations
• Be committed to developing children as independent learners
• Be an excellent communicator and able to develop positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Work well as part of a team, demonstrating empathy, focus and commitment.
• A person who strives for excellence, has high expectations and has the capacity to embrace LAN Centre life
In return:
You will be part of a dedicated, hardworking and very cohesive staff team, with a great work environment, designed to support our pupils to thrive, with access to outdoor play, learning and garden areas. We also offer excellent learning opportunities and commitment to staff professional development.
Salary is Surrey Pay 3.3, Actual £13940 FTE (£23576). It should be noted that TA’s based in the LAN Centre will have the opportunity to gain more experience and therefore the potential to achieve a higher salary than a TA based in mainstream.

This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Check.
