Senior Finance Officer - Local Authority We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join a dynamic Corporate Accountancy team within a local authority. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with an expectation to attend the office a few times per month. Key Responsibilities: Complete monthly CIS returns and VAT claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Liaise with HMRC and address VAT-related queries. Monitor and report on financial controls. Support the completion of the annual Statement of Accounts and related processes. Assist with finance systems maintenance and statutory returns. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and liaise with internal and external auditors. About You: Experience in finance teams within local authorities, public sector, or non-profit organisations. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Corporate Accountancy experience in local government is highly desirable.
