We are helping a growing SME hire their first Assistant Accountant. This role will report directly to a lovely Finance Director. You can work fully remotely in this role; however, being prepared to travel to London 1 day a week, if required, would be ideal. The culture of this company can be described as supportive, inclusive, and hardworking—nice people who really take pride in what they do The Role This hands-on Assistant Accountant role will report directly to the Finance Director and will involve the following: Processing and paying supplier invoices. Managing accounts payable (AP), accruals, and prepayments. Preparing VAT returns. Conducting quarterly balance sheet reconciliations. Raising invoices to clients. Reconciling supplier statements. Dealing with supplier queries. Managing sales and purchase ledgers. Processing purchase and customer invoices. Handling bank reconciliations and processing bank transactions. Preparing and posting monthly journals. Drafting supplier pay-runs. Maintaining staff expense claims. Supporting credit control functions. Maintaining accurate financial records.
