An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a doctor at ST3 level or above to work as an Internal Medicine Fellow at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holders will be based at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
The post holders’ job plan will have a flexible portfolio of work. They would develop a rounded training in both clinical and managerial aspects of care. In additional to Acute Medical care there will be an opportunity for suitable candidates to develop at specialty interest. The job plan would comprise of 80% clinical based in Acute Medical care/specialty ( 6 month rotation) with 20 % development.
The Acute Medicine post is focused on enhancing the quality of front end medical pathways in the trust to support front end transformation of services including Acute Medicine early medical decision making in the Emergency Department.

The job plan will comprise 4 clinical duties and 1 developmental session. (work pattern)
In the acute medicine post the post holder will support the front end pathways,, Same Day Emergency Care and support the acute medicine team as needed .
In the speciality post the post holder will join in ward round, outpatients and if applicable procedural duties. There are opportunities in most major medical specialties; cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, frailty, endocrinology and stroke. During the on call there will be interaction with the hospital at night team. This should give exposure to critical care and outreach decision making. The developmental session will be working with the managerial and education teams on projects for the twelve months post.
