The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for the financial management of site activities for works at Sizewell C power station, working alongside a Contracts Manager and a team of Project Managers, who will run the sites day-to-day, to ensure the timely and quality delivery of each of your projects to budget constraints. Works will cover a range of infrastructure works, enabling and stabilisation packages, compound set-ups and pads/bases.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed breakdown of build costs for each stage of work across a project base primarily encompassing infrastructure, stabilisation and enabling works, projects up to £10m in value.
* Forecast, monitor and maintain cash flow to ensure margins are maintained and projects remain profitable.
* Keep on top of all variations in work and ensure they are accounted for, with autonomy on decision making as to how best to handle these.
* Be aware of, assist with and take the lead on key contractual issues that affect works and negotiate in the best interests of the business where needs arise.
* Procurement of sub-contract works including documentation and compliance in line with project programme. Managing them through to final accounts.
* Attend and chair regular project meetings with delivery team, senior management and external consultants.
* Effective communication across all levels with clients, suppliers, external consultants and colleagues through to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A relevant Construction related Degree or equivalent Higher Education course, ideally Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management.
* Previous Quantity Surveying experience working for a civil engineering, infrastructure or rail specialist, with a project scope covering works ranging from £500k to £10m individually.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
* Proven longevity with an established main contractor.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
