Based in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, offering the nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, plus excellent company benefits. (you will be paid for your normal working hours plus your attendance at college)

What does a life as a Painter and decorator look like.
A painter and decorator’s job involves working in a variety of settings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, offices, schools, and industrial sites and domestic households. Their primary responsibility is to prepare surfaces and apply various decorative finishes to enhance the appearance and protection of walls, floors, ceilings, and other structures.
All our roles require candidates to have the right to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks either before or upon commencement of employment.
The apprenticeship course will cover the following: -
* Develop and maintain good working relations.
* Read technical instructions.
* Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating.
* Apply water borne surface coatings.
* Apply solvent borne surface coatings.
* Hang wallcoverings
* Apply coatings using air and airless spraying
* Apply coating to produce textured coatings
* Install coving.
* Produce decorative effects.
What do you need to be a successful applicant: -
* Potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
* The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
* You must live in a commutable distance to independently travel to and from the branch
* Strong communication skills
* Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
* Candidates will undertake a preemployment assessment
