The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures across all renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on BESS installations. The role will involve ensuring compliance with industry regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and contributing to continuous improvement in SHEQ performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Provide SHEQ training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors.
• Support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
• Monitor environmental and sustainability initiatives to support the company’s green energy commitments.
• Keep up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
• Prepare and submit SHEQ reports, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure SHEQ considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience in a SHEQ role within the renewable energy, BESS, or construction industries.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and accident investigation techniques.
• Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001).
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Ability to influence and promote a strong SHEQ culture.
• Proficiency in report writing and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (Diploma preferred).
• IEMA Environmental Qualification.
• Internal or Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards.
• First Aid and Fire Safety training.
• Working knowledge of CDM regulations.
