Supply Chain Manager

ESS’s Client continues to push the boundaries of the design, manufacture, build, and test of gas analysers and gas emission monitoring systems. Their equipment is found in a range of industrial settings, including process control, continuous emissions monitoring (CEMs), defence, and security.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the management of all procurement, warehouse, and inventory control activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Forecasting, Material Planning, Supplier Management and Procurement
* Forecast future material needs based on inputs from historic demand, established POR targets, and S&OP process.
* Ensure accuracy of MRP parameters for timely procurement of materials.
* Manage purchasing activity to ensure availability of material for production plans.
* Ensure procurement team actions MRP messages accurately and timely.
* Manage a defined list of qualified suppliers across various categories and industries.
* Create processes for risk management and mitigation in procurement activities.
* Drive cost-saving activities in procurement of existing materials.
* Establish suppliers of new materials to support ongoing NPI activity.
* Develop strong relationships with strategic supply partners.
Management of Team:
* Coach and motivate team members, ensuring maximum teamwork and cooperation.
* Collaborate with HR for recruitment, promotion, performance management, education, development, and succession planning of team members.
* Drive the team to utilize JDE software for planning, scheduling, and buying.
* Own the PDP process for the team.
* Manage the Cumbernauld warehouse and stores teams.
POR / S&OP:
* Participate in establishing POR targets and reporting on achievement against targets.
* Participate in S&OP to ensure understanding of material requirements for current and future demand.
* Load and maintain the production schedule aligned with build requirements and POR targets.
* Facilitate and maintain work order records from creation to shipment.
* Ensure WO structure integrity and accuracy in the MRP system.
* Review monthly shipment targets aligning with Customer promise date service levels (PDSL).
* Support period-end reporting through key metrics.
Inventory Management:
* Support site inventory management through application of inventory management techniques.
* Ensure accurate and timely replenishment of materials to forecasted and actual demand.
* Facilitate laser management through call off, receipt, and allocation of lasers.
* Provide inventory reports to senior management and lead inventory management and reduction projects.
* Lead change and improvement for procurement activities, including Kaizen events.
* Act as escalation point for all supply chain issues.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement in the organization.
* Effectively manage key performance metrics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Significant prior experience of leading procurement activity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Prior experience of managing a team of procurement professionals.
* Excellent planning and analytical skills.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages.
* Experience with a recognized MRP system.
