Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Elective Access Coordinator to join our team based in our Lakeside offices. You will be part of a friendly team working in a busy department to ensure that the administration and coordination of the organisation's surgical waiting lists are carried out to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills and IT ability. The post holder must be able to use their own initiative and also work efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Elective Access Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative support to the Pre-Operative Assessment and is responsible for providing an accurate and timely account of the entire patient pathway on the Patient Management system.
You will communicate and liaise with key personnel working within the UHB and external health boards and agencies in order to expedite the patient pathway and provide information on breaches. The post holder will coordinate, manage, organize, and deliver designated Theatre lists across the UHB following RTT guidelines.

The role of the Elective Access Coordinator is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic. This will include liaising with the Pre-Operative Assessment Nurses, coordinating appointments, and providing an accurate and timely account of the entire patient pathway on the Patient Management system.

Qualifications
* Good standard of educational qualifications (6 or more GCSEs including English and Maths grade C and above) or able to demonstrate equivalent work experience. NVQ level 3, or equivalent experience. Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
Experience
* Advanced administration experience in a busy and demanding environment. Experience of working in an environment requiring a high degree of confidentiality. Experience of working with patient identifiable data. Ability to cope with an unpredictable workload, to work under pressure on their own initiative.
Skills
* Excellent telephone manner and communication skills. Excellent filing skills. Proven organizational skills. To function efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines. Very flexible approach to work. Adaptable.
