Opportunity Profile The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new social housing customers and heat decarbonisation delivery projects within the agreed regions of operation, in this case the North of England, with potential for wider UK coverage. The postholder will develop and managing strategic business opportunities to drive Company growth and profitability within our Domestic Energy Division, ensuring positive client relations and developing a repeat client base. Benefits Salary Competitive 25 days' annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) Hybrid working Company pension Cycle to work scheme Life insurance Wellness programme Key Tasks Develop and manage your own expanded network of repeat social housing clients in your region for energy delivery projects Develop proposals for new heat decarbonisation projects including technology appraisals and commercials Produce high quality responses, commercial models & administration for tenders Lead proposal / tender strategy for own opportunities, in liaison with the divisional Director Project manage range of activities and projects as required Liaise closely with Engineering and Operations team to develop optimum client solutions Plan, contribute and manage Cenergist’s lead generation activities within the division Identify and attend industry events Develop and maintain project plans including performance, reporting and ensure projects are delivered according to Cenergist quality processes Manage pipeline of allocated / developed accounts and provide regular updates to the Director Grow divisional business area market share Support Delivery and Finance teams in the allocation of Project Purchase Orders from clients, invoicing and cash collect Key Performance Indicators Position related Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets Developing positive relationships with current and prospective clients Maintaining accurate forecasts, account plans and opportunity profiles Demonstration of market and competitor awareness Monitoring of project progress to ensure goals are met Compliance To ensure understanding of the Cenergist quality and environmental management systems and to work according to their requirements To be aware of the environmental aspects and impacts relevant to the work of as well as ensuring compliance with any environmental legislation that is applicable to the job Ensure all Cenergist activities are GDPR compliant Qualifications Educated to degree level or proven experience and success in a sales or renewable energy environment (minimum 2 years) About You Demonstrable Experience Bid writing experience, ability to write high quality project proposals Experience of developing energy efficiency / M&E projects Experience of UK social housing market Understanding of district heating market / heat pumps Good commercial acumen Behavioural Competencies Confidence, tenacity, and drive Pragmatic and decisive Excellent rapport building skills – both with colleagues and clients. Excellent communicator (verbal & written) The position will be predominantly home based and out of the Leeds office, but regular travel is required to visit other Cenergist offices and site locations along with attendance at client meetings.
