Hours: 25.5 hours to be worked over 3 days
We are looking to appoint a confident, dynamic and committed NMP who will have proven experience and skill for managing a caseload of service users currently receiving treatment. The successful candidate will take a lead on independently prescribing from a formula of medications in accordance to the ‘protocol for Non-Medical Prescribing within LSCFT Memory Assessment Services’ and will ensure they participate and undertake an annual scope of practice declaration.
Other Requirements For The Role Include:
* To participate in the clinical supervision process existing within the team and to deliver supervision and guidance to colleagues involved in monitoring treatments.
* To participate in auditing the teams prescribing practices and promote best practice with prescribing in accordance with NICE guidance.
* To participate in Trust wide NMP meetings and the MAS best practice group to share knowledge and maintain competency.
* As a Band 7, the successful candidate will support investigations and managing complaints.
* To be able to demonstrate an approach which is aligned with the Trust values. They will be innovative, proactive and be able to work autonomously, with enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude to support the service achieve its vision.
The specialised clinical role involves undertaking assessment of individuals referred to the Pennine Memory Assessment Service, the screening and subsequent monitoring of individuals undergoing treatment for their dementia - this includes working as a Non-Medical prescriber.
The role involves working in a wide range of community setting and clinics and being closely involved with the individuals and their carers to provide specialist advice, education and support. Where the post holder is a Non-Medical prescriber (NMP), they must practice responsibly and maintain competence to effectively prescribe from the relevant prescribing formulary.
Non-Medical prescribing (NMP) practice is defined by current strategy, policy and protocol for NMP within LSCFT.
