With an established reputation for delivering high-quality projects, this company has a strong pipeline of work and is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. About the Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing all cost-related aspects of retail fitout projects, ensuring they are delivered on budget and meet the high standards expected. You will play a key role in the commercial management of projects, from initial cost planning through to final account settlement. Key Responsibilities: Preparing detailed cost plans and estimates. Managing and forecasting project budgets and ensuring value for money. Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and procurement strategies. Procuring and managing subcontractor packages, including valuations and payments. Preparing tender documentation and analyzing submitted tenders. Monitoring and managing project variations, changes, and claims. Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions. Managing the preparation and negotiation of final accounts. Reporting to senior management and stakeholders on project progress and financial performance. Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. What We’re Looking For: Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the retail fitout/construction sector, specifically on full store refurbishments or remodels. Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), and cost control processes. Technical Skills: Proficient in using relevant software such as Microsoft Office and cost management tools. Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. MRICS or working towards chartered status is highly desirable. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving project challenges. Driving Licence: Full, clean driving licence (travel to sites may be required). What’s in it for You?
