We are looking to appoint an ELSA who: already holds the ELSA qualification is highly motivated to support individuals (or groups of children) who are experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy or other aspects of school or home life has patience and the ability to help vulnerable children understand the world around them and progress towards their potential will encourage a learning environment throughout the school which allows children to acquire and develop emotional literacy skills is a team player with a can-do attitude, emotional resilience and a good sense of humour possesses empathy, resilience, understanding, patience and is passionate about working with children to provide a calm learning environment. You will have : good levels of English and mathematics (GCSE maths and English grade C or equivalent) a high degree of initiative and sound judgement when working with children and young people experience of helping children to achieve their full social and academic potential.
