Our client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, is currently seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join their team in Hook, Hampshire. This permanent role is fundamental to ensuring that equipment meets high standards before it reaches the customer. As part of this dynamic team, you will gain detailed knowledge of the company's equipment and operations, with training provided to support your development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commission products within required dates and to the highest quality standards.
2. Conduct initial testing alongside commissioning on designated products.
3. Ensure all build procedures are followed and report on any required changes for future builds.
4. System assembly and QA testing for customer orders ready for shipment.
5. Record and update documentation associated with QA and customer orders.
6. Evaluate and conduct repairs on returned equipment and systems.
7. Perform in-house calibrations and sanity checks.
8. Liaise with Geotechnical Systems Engineers to develop testing capabilities and provide feedback for improvements.
9. Prepare, maintain, and implement internal and external technical procedures.
10. Debug and problem solve issues with products both in-house and in the field.
11. Ensure safe working practices in line with Health and Safety requirements.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience within an engineering environment, preferably in Materials, Electronics, or Mechanical fields.
2. Basic understanding and confidence in working with electronic/electrical components and systems.
3. Ability to think logically and fault find software, mechanical, and electrical issues.
4. Knowledge or experience of sensors, transducers, and electro-mechanical systems would be advantageous.
5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
6. Proficiency in learning in-house developed software packages.
7. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
8. Capability to manage time independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
9. Flexible approach to work and ability to collaborate with team members.
10. Desire to learn new ideas and concepts.
11. Experience with Microsoft Office for report writing and data interpretation.
12. High standard of housekeeping, cleanliness, and tidiness.
