What Youll Do:
* Take responsibility for the academic department: have ownership and accountability of the schools fantastic teaching team to maintain high levels of student satisfaction and achievement.
* Build a strong academic team: recruit new teachers and ensure they are compliant with Malvern International and British Council standards. Maintain strong levels of adherence to policies and discipline whilst taking action where necessary to address any issues that may arise
* Drive sales: work closely with agents, regional managers and prospective students to bring groups, students and business to the school and boost business revenue.
* Develop the teaching at Malvern House: provide daily support to the staff and create a robust programme of CPD that meet the development needs of the team.
* Maintain smooth running of the school: ensure lesson administration is fully completed; syllabuses and weekly plans are updated, and attendance records are fully accounted for and accurate.
* Take a hands-on approach with the students: provide a warm and welcoming environment for learners to discuss questions or complaints they are having and be ready welcome walk-ins from potential students or agents and discuss course options with them.
* Create an attractive course profile: continue to develop existing courses and syllabuses whilst investigating new materials and creating exciting new courses
* Demonstrate strong leadership: be a key figure in the school and an example of excellent leadership to both staff and students.
* Front of house visibility: be the face that the students and visitors see when they arrive at the school and demonstrate a keen readiness to handle any opportunities or challenges that come your way, welcome prospective clients and project the best possible image of Malvern House to open new doors for booking opportunities
What You Bring:
* A firm knowledge of all things ELT from student assessment and ELT trends to teacher training and course development.
* TEFL-Q status with previous experience of being a Director of Studies (1 year minimum).
* Commercial savvy with a knack for boosting sales and keeping things profitable.
* Superb organisation and multitasking skills, with an eagle eye for details.
* A strong commitment to teamwork and enthusiasm for making every moment count.
* You dont need to be a tech-wiz, but your IT skills need to be solid, with proficiency in using Microsoft Office, email systems, and databases.
