This role focuses on driving the strategic implementation across the portfolio, reporting to the portfolio executive on progress with key metrics, including the development of client and partner relationships, and monitoring wins, losses, and the status of SMOs.
You’ll manage the SMO pipeline to align with the 3-year growth plan and annual business objectives, playing a key role in shaping our regional strategy. As the portfolio evolves, you'll have the opportunity to develop the team, including recruiting the right talent to meet current and future needs.
You'll take charge of managing and coordinating bids, ensuring that competitive, high-quality proposals are consistently delivered to Arup’s clients. Building and nurturing strong relationships with the bid team, including external partners, will be crucial, while coaching and guiding as needed.
The Work Winning Manager will implement best practices in bid management, leveraging APMP standards and Arup’s 12 Step work-winning process, and work closely with technical, client account, and marketing teams to lead and deliver winning strategies from the initial positioning to the final award. Additionally, you'll contribute to authoring, reviewing, and editing proposals and submissions.

* Have experience of proposal management and writing, possibly within the UK Business sector or a professional services context.
* Able to identify and communicate work winning priorities and strategies
* Have played a central role within bid teams and of work collaboratively with others under pressure
* Able to draw out and communicate ideas effectively and creatively and a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to produce impactful, clear, and compliant submissions.
