This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.
Dean Close School are looking to appoint a new Teacher of English for our Senior School. This position is starting in September 2025, and we would be open to all applications for this role who are looking for a Full time or Part time position.
Other roles and responsibilities to include:
* Responsibility for the teaching and learning of pupils who study English from years 9-13 within the allocated teaching sets.
* Maintaining high standards in the classroom.
* Communicating effectively with the Head of Department, parents, tutors and House masters/mistresses on matters relating to pupils.
* Being a tutor and fulfilling the associated duties and responsibilities.
* Making a full contribution the co-curricular life of a busy boarding school.
This is large and busy department, full of supportive and experienced teachers who teach from Years 9-11, and we have recent the department grow recently with the introduction of Media Studies as an A Level Option. The successful candidate will have experience and/or the ability to teach English to A-level.
