A Civil Engineering Groundworks contractor based near Stockport is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. This £75 million turnover client is leading the market in groundworks for new build/house build projects in the Northwest. They are expanding the team for £40 million of new works starting now!
About the role: Junior Quantity Surveyor
As the Junior Quantity Surveyor, you'll report to the Commercial Manager. You and the commercial team will oversee numerous groundworks projects on new house build sites across the Northwest.
The housebuilder clients you will be contracting for include Redrow Homes, Keepmoat, Countryside, Miller Homes, and more. You will support their projects from cradle to grave, installing roads, sewage infrastructure, drainage, DPC, surfacing, etc.
You will need to report to the Head Office Monday to Friday. The office/site requirements are about a 70/30 split.
Responsibilities for Junior Quantity Surveyor
* Accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour, and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works.
* Preparing and reviewing tender documents.
* Liaising with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors.
* Administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance.
* Implementing effective cost control measures to optimise project outcomes.
* Regular reporting on financial progress, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities to management.
* Collaborating with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
* Assisting the commercial team.
Requirements for Junior Quantity Surveyor
* Previous housebuilding sector experience/exposure preferable (client or contractor side).
* Preferably experience doing contractor side groundworks projects (most ideal on housebuilding sites).
* Full UK driver's license.

* £25,000 - £35,000 p/a base salary (dependent on experience).
