Corporate / Fund Accountant - VC Fund - (6-12 Month Contract) - Hybrid
A prominent venture capital firm, known for its focus on deep tech investments with substantial assets under management, is seeking a qualified fund/corporate accountant on a contract basis.
Role Highlights:
Duration: 6-12 months
Hybrid Work: 3 days in the office
Day Rate: £400-450 via umbrella
In this pivotal role, you will lead the corporate accounting function and also provide vital support to fund accounting operations. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a dynamic team and deliver crucial insights and controls across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting management with accurate operational forecasts.
* Audit Management: Coordinate and manage the audit process to ensure compliance with key milestones and effective stakeholder communication.
* Month-End Closings: Oversee month-end processes for both corporate and fund accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* General Ledger Management: Reconcile and maintain the GL for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions within UK and Lux structures.
* Regulatory Compliance: Submit required annual and quarterly FCA returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Tax Compliance: Manage VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and work closely with tax advisors to facilitate timely submissions.
* Treasury & Cash Management: Oversee cash management and treasury functions across corporate and fund accounts, ensuring optimal liquidity.
* AP/AR Process Improvement: Develop new AP/AR processes to streamline payment workflows and increase efficiency.
* Expense Management: Supervise the staff expenses process, ensuring adherence to company policies.
* Fund Models & Waterfalls: Maintain and update fund models for accurate forecasting, including fund projections and waterfall calculations.
* Board Reporting: Prepare and present quarterly management reports, offering board members critical insights into business performance.
Candidate Requirements:
* Must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
* Previous experience in private equity or venture capital funds is essential.
* Proficient in MS Excel with strong communication and analytical abilities.
