The Greendale Group is looking to appoint a Marketing Assistant to join our team based in Exeter. The Greendale Group is a successful family company which boasts a diverse range of businesses including the Greendale Business Park (close to Exeter and the M5), Greendale Farm Shop, a large working farm, a fishing business (Waterdance Limited), Exmouth Marina, as well as a number of other investments in both commercial and residential property across the South West. With rapid growth and an expected turnover in 2024 of circa £70m, it is an exciting time to join such a diverse business.
An opportunity has arisen to join the Marketing team as a Marketing Assistant in a vibrant and dynamic business near Exeter. We’re looking for a highly driven, creative and energised personality – ideally with a passion for food and drink - who will help to drive forward the marketing activities of the company and its brands. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and execution of a diverse range of marketing activities primarily focusing on social media and event planning.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support in the daily management and scheduling for all social media channels
* Create and edit engaging content including photography and video
* Analyse and report on performance of all social media activity
* Follow and engage with the latest social media trends
* Community management - Monitor and respond to customer comments and social media posts (not customer service enquiries)
* Support in the management and planning of events
* Supporting in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns for events to include ticketing, promotion, paid ads and working with press
* Work with the marketing team to support brand and marketing initiatives
* Create and publish printed marketing material
* Support with maintenance of company websites including e-commerce website
* Maintain assets in the company’s asset management tools
* Work closely with trading teams to develop campaigns
* Maintain relationships with brands to ensure collaboration in promotional activities
* Assist in the development and implementation of in-store marketing communications and product merchandising
* Write copy for diverse marketing distributions (brochures, press releases, website material etc.)
* Provide administrative support to the marketing department
Skills and experience required:
* Content creation skills are essential, being able to create engaging content using photography, video and copy
* Photography and video editing skills are essential including experience with video editing software
* Good knowledge of the leading social media platforms is essential
* Super organised, care about every little detail and can juggle an exciting mix of tasks all at once and deliver to agreed timescales
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Creative, innovative and results-driven approach
* A digital native with the ability to pick up new technologies quickly
* Proven marketing experience is desirable particularly in a retail environment
* Familiarity with social media and web analytics desirable
* BSc/BA in marketing, media production or relevant discipline desirable
* Adobe Creative Suite skills desirable
* Competence in website management preferable
