I am working with one of the leading names in house building and place-making and they are looking to strengthen the team with a land manager. The role would focus on identifying, negotiating and acquiring new sites in Hertfordshire, north London and buckinghamshire area and working closely with land agents and housing associations to secure new sites. You would report to the Land Director and have full autonomy over projects with the position being a high-profile one in the business. You will have a portable book of contacts in the residential development agency world and have a demonstratable history. You will have an intimate knowledge of the planning process and know how to project manage planning applications through the planning system. You will work closely with the internal and external consultants to successfully manage the projects through the development lifecycle. Ideally, you will currently be working for one of the leading house builders or residential property developers but I am also keen to hear from senior candidates working in development consultancy. It is essential that you have experience in land buying for large Plc house builders or residential developers and that you have worked in Hertfordshire, north London and Buckinghamshire. Responsibilities Sourcing off-market land for purchase on the south coast and surrounding areas. Keeping contact with housing associations looking to do partnership JV’s. Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchases Overseeing legal, planning and design consultants pre and post-acquisition Keeping up to date with town planning policy and specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writing Expected experiences Degree-qualified and ideal property-related Natural born deal maker doing 1-2 land deals a year consistently. Experienced senior land manager or land manager ready to make the step up. Demonstratable track record of sourcing and acquiring land in Hertfordshire, north London and buckinghamshire Currently working for either a national residential developer or a high-profile investor or agency. Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process. A strong network of contacts in the land agency world. Determined, hungry and ambitious. Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team.
