We are looking for a PA for our nine year old son, he has a cardiac condition that
means he requires a wheelchair part time when he gets tired. He is a fun bubbly
chap with an infectious smile!
He is in mainstream school and is age appropriate for personal care needs. He
loves Lego ,music ,swimming and films and if you can play chess that is a bonus!
We are chilled out family who love being outdoors and love to let our sons live
their best lives (he is one of three boys!).
We really need someone to pick him up from school two days a week and bring
him home (dad will be there working from home) and stay until 4.30/5. And also
assist him at cubs one evening a week. The other available hours are totally
flexible.
We are looking for someone fun sensible and does not mind a bit of music and
mud!
Experience is desirable but not essential.
UK driving licence and access to own vehicle desirable but not essential as public
transport/ transport from the family can be used.
Duties include:
Personal Care:
Age-appropriate prompting of hand washing and personal care.
Social:
Engage him in age-appropriate activities/hobbies at home.
Plan and take him on excursions to local facilities/attractions.
The above duties are likely to involve driving our son in your vehicle, lifting his
manual wheelchair in/out of your car and pushing his wheelchair when out
and about.
Other Tasks:
To monitor his general wellbeing.
