Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit a Director of Faculty on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £57,250 - £60,383 per annum.
We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
The Role
To provide effective strategic leadership of the Faculty, managing Curriculum Leaders in all aspects of curriculum, quality, and development. The role focuses on aligning faculty provision and performance with the College's strategic goals, driving the student experience and their success, whilst also contributing to cross-college initiatives.
Responsibilities As Our Director Of Faculty Will Include
* Develop an inclusive, motivational, and aspirational ethos and culture across the Faculty, setting high expectations and standards of professionalism and achievement for all students and staff.
* Under the direction of the Deputy Principal, take responsibility for the strategic direction of the curriculum, including making proposals for, and developing new courses where appropriate.
* Clearly identify how the Faculty can contribute to the achievement of the College's Strategic Plan objectives and lead the Faculty approach to doing so.
* Take responsibility for leading, supervising and managing line reports in line with all college practice and policies.
* Oversee the effective development and improvement of quality in subjects in the Faculty, alongside the impact on the student experience and achievement.
* Ensure that all college quality practices and procedures are implemented in an effective and timely manner across the Faculty.
* Monitor Curriculum Leaders in their checking of the accuracy of Progress Check grades across all subjects in the Faculty.
* Monitor Curriculum Leaders in their checking of the accuracy of marks uploaded for external verification.
* Ensure that teaching, learning, and assessment matters take high priority in Faculty business, overseeing high quality teaching, learning and assessment.
* Ensure that all subject-related documentation across the Faculty, such as schemes of work, assessment plans, exam papers and risk registers are regularly updated to a high standard and in a timely manner.
As Our Director Of Faculty, You'll Ideally Have
* A degree level qualification.
* A teaching qualification relevant to post-16 education.
* Proven experience of successful curriculum leadership, demonstrating quality improvement and development.
* Experience of relationship-building and collaboration with stakeholders such as parents/carers, educational organisations, businesses/employers, or civic organisations.
* Evidence of relevant continued professional development and/or training.
* Knowledge and appreciation for curriculum-related post-16 education matters.
* Experience of managing a budget.
* Strong strategic thinking skills.
* The ability to provide a clear direction to colleagues.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to lead teams and manage development and change effectively.
* A creative, innovative and adaptable approach to curriculum planning and development.
* Proficiency in computer literacy and administrative tasks.
