If you're a Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapists or Social Worker, we're looking for you to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service team based at Swindon CAMHS, Swindon and support the delivery of our Mental Health provision.
As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team and deliver services across the Salisbury area. You will provide day-to-day clinical support for the CAMHS Service and ensure a consistent, responsive, high quality, evidence based and user-friendly service is delivered.
You will have the opportunity to make an active and meaningful contribution to our exciting service modernisation and redesign that is based on the Thrive model, ensuring children and young people get the right support, at the right time, in the right place, from individuals with the right skills.

Main duties of the job
Salisbury CAMHS is a supportive multidisciplinary team who offer assessment, treatment, and consultation either in the clinic base or out in the community.
In this role, you will undertake comprehensive assessments of young people with mental health needs from across the Salisbury area.
You can expect a comprehensive induction programme, including a range of shadowing opportunities to fully support the post holder in the role, ongoing in-house training and opportunities to attend external trainings. The team fully supports and delivers regular managerial, professional, peer, clinical, and safeguarding supervision to build upon confidence, competence, and commitment to developing self and the role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
12. Assessment of mental health issues
13. Contribute a psycho-social perspective to patients

Within the team, we work on a flexible working pattern within the multi-disciplinary team to provide cover for a core day 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday –Sunday and Bank Holidays. The flexible working patterns allows team members to work hours flexibly and for days off during the week. You will participate in covering the service’s 24 hour on call service on a rota basis. There is a robust system of support available from on call colleagues including the manager, consultant psychiatrist and senior manager on call.

Knowledge Requirements
Essential criteria
16. Knowledge of mental health and community care legislation and policy
17. Knowledge of Recovery Focused Practice
18. Knowledge of Safeguarding policy and procedures
19. Knowledge and experience of assessing mental health risks and safety/crisis planning
Desirable criteria
20. Knowledge and experience of a range motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and a psychological therapy (i.e. CBT/DBT)
Qualifications – Academic/Skills/Professional
Essential criteria
21. RMN/OT/Social Worker with mental health training
22. Current registration with relevant professional body; NMC, HCPC
23. Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
24. Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
25. Leadership Training/ Experience

26. Experience as a Band 5, or equivalent, Mental Health professional
27. Understanding and experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs or relevant Mental Health experience
28. Experience of and commitment to working in a multi-agency setting working in partnership with a range of health, social care and education professionals
29. Experience of working with young adults or young people or experience of working in a community setting
30. Experience of care coordination/role of Lead Professional
31. Ability to carry out assessments and psycho-social interventions

32. Experience of providing training/supervision for junior staff and students on placement
