Providers expect a Quality Management System and dedicated Quality Team to be in place for opportunities such as Testing and Diagnostic Services, Research Studies and Clinical Trials. A Quality Manager is a requirement for our current contract with Our Future Health. This is a full-time 12-month secondment position based in Nottingham. About the role The Quality Manager delivers the Boots Pharmacy Quality Management System relating to services, trials, studies and continual improvement. The Quality Manager is an important member of the Superintendent Pharmacist’s Office team, reporting to the Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist. The Quality Manager is required to: • Lead the quality agenda for opportunities that require specific dedicated quality support e.g. Our Future Health and Point of Care Testing to ensure continuous improvement practices are in place to evolve and improve quality standards • Lead and line manage the Quality Team and delegate duties • Identify quality KPIs and implement processes to monitor compliance with these. KPIs may cover customer complaints and feedback, incidents, third party performance, audits, health and safety/clinical measures and contractual aspects, where specified. • Partner commercial teams to ensure that quality is embedded within new service/study/trial development and build consistency and continuous improvement metrics into services as they evolve • Support with regulatory accreditation, inspections or other external audits • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape and external environment • Support the development and cascade of best practice guidance and information to support the safe delivery of services/trials/ studies • Co-ordinate governance meetings with both internal stakeholders and external partners where required • Manage and develop the Quality Management System • Review and approve policies and guidance to ensure quality standards are maintained • Are a point of escalation for incidents, complaints and audits What you’ll need to have • Understanding of good governance including audit • Experience of complaints and incidents management • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems • Knowledge of risk assessment and management • Stakeholder management skills • Strong, articulate communicator with excellent attention to detail for written documents and presentations • Ability to write in English – to convey technical nuance to a specialised audience and using simple effective language for communication with wider groups e.g. direct to patients • Continual improvement and learning mindset • Experience of setting and delivering to deadlines It would be great if you also have • Project management experience • Understanding of the operation of community pharmacy • Experience developing services, studies and/or trials • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment around pharmacy, medicines supply and trials / testing / services Our benefits Boots Retirement Savings Plan Discretionary annual bonus Generous employee discounts Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child Flexible benefits scheme including holiday buying, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and more.
