Shifts: 12.08 hr shifts covering days and nights, 24 hrs a week with optional overtime available.
You must be able to attend an assessment centre on Monday 27th January if selected for interview.
Position Summary
We are looking for Line Operators to join our Nestlé Confectionery factory at our York site to support the production department. These positions are on a Nestle Flexible Worker basis working 24 hrs a week. You will work with various teams and have the potential opportunity to work across all areas of the factory. Depending on performance, there is the potential to become a permanent role in the future with the world’s largest food and beverage business.
The makers of KitKat, Aero, Yorkie bars & Polo Mints are looking for help supporting the production team doing a variety of roles around the factory – working as part of a manufacturing team to create our confectionery products, monitoring quality of products, and operating packing machines whilst adhering to the highest safety and food hygiene standards.
Day in the life of a Line Operator
Your main accountability will be to achieve performance targets by operating machines and systems. You will ensure that the process runs at its optimum, producing high quality products and coordinating actions where necessary on your line.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the safe & efficient running of production lines, reducing lost production time by keeping repairs and breakdowns to a minimum.
* Ensure high safety and quality standards are adhered to in order to maintain a safe working environment.
* Approach work with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Show ownership for the line including when a Line Leader is not present.
* Be a positive role model and ensure routines and standards are maintained.
* Provide a working style that actively involves and motivates your colleagues.
* Support factory activities to achieve KPIs.

* A practical approach to your work, along with a great can-do attitude.
* Ability to promote positive behaviours around individual and safety of others.
* Ability to work as part of a team and possess problem-solving skills.
* A logical approach to your duties and ability to follow processes delivering compliance in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferable but not essential – role specific, on-the-job training will be provided.
