Interim Building Surveyor - Engineering & Surveying

Pay Rate: £20.04 per hour PAYE
37 hours Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 2 months

This role is for a Building Surveyor, and they will be responsible for service delivery to a wide range of clients in designing solutions in the private, education, and local authority sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Have responsibility for early stage design and feasibility work
2. Develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client
3. Carry out detailed design work and prepare production information
4. Undertake the role of Project Manager
5. Administer building contracts and act as ‘Lead Discipline’ on programmed capital projects
6. Undertake all aspects of professional surveying work (including surveys, PW work, dilapidations, DDA & FRA’s)
7. Carry out inspections when required to resolve building defects, assigning contractors and managing the works.
Qualifications:
1. Relevant degree/qualification.
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of current Building Regulations.
2. Knowledge of different types of building surveys.
3. Knowledge of the Approved Document M1, Health & Safety Legislation, and Project Management.
4. Knowledge of Construction and Building Surveying/condition surveys.
Experience:
1. Experience of working relating to maintenance and project work for Schools & Public Buildings.
2. Experience of and ability to produce CAD Drawing using AutoCAD.
3. Experience of producing specifications.
4. Experience of planned/reactive and maintenance works contracts.
5. Experience of supervising, administering, and monitoring contracts/contract administration and evaluating contractor performance.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
2. Ability to produce CAD drawings and prepare estimates.
