As an Assistant Project Manager you will be responsible for providing support to the Project Manager and Area Manager to develop Northern Powerhouse Rail proposals and any future rail projects between Birmingham and the North, as instructed by the Department of Transport (DfT). About the Role: To be responsible for providing project management activities for the project, mainly the reporting of progress, risks and issues to the Project Manager. To be responsible for ensuring stakeholders are identified and managed throughout the lifecycle stage of the project. To support the Project Manager in effectively and efficiently managing the project management reporting requirements. To support the Project Manager in managing and monitoring contract performance of Professional Services Contracts (PSC) and where required, reporting progress against instructions from the DfT for the deliverables required at each stage gate and control points. To support the Project Manager in developing, reviewing and establishing a programme schedule baseline for the project. To support the Project Manager in proactively managing risks and supporting the management of risks, assumptions, and exclusions. To be responsible for supporting a collaborative culture which enables high performance by encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing. Building Relationships - ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful outcomes. Reporting - ability to provide reports for internal and external governance forums. Type of Experience: Experience in a business / commercial environment Experience of developing management competencies within a project.
