As a Quantity Surveyor you will work as part of a small commercial team in collaboration with our long serving Contract Managers taking full accountability for the technical and financial aspects of our planned refurbishment works, working closely with our long-standing housing client in Wiltshire. The Quantity Surveyor role: As a Quantity Surveyor within our Capital works (planned, refurbishment) division, you will actively tender, estimate and measure onsite. You will thrive in collaborating with the operational team, while managing the full commercial responsibility for the financial and commercial aspects of our contracts and projects for our local authority client from tender and specification stage, through to final account and billing. Specifically, you will: Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any risks and solutions for mitigating these. Prepare budget cost value reconciliations, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the beginning. Work closely with the Contracts Managers to ensure productivity targets and contract milestones are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives and subcontractor performance monitoring. Build strong client and supplier relations, to ensure competitive value and any variations and the progress of contracts are discussed and resolved proactively. Take purchase, credit and debtor responsibility using COINS to achieve expected cash flow. Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance exceptional to budget, value, progress, quality, and safety) Produce monthly contract valuations. What will you bring as Quantity Surveyor? You will be accurate, organised, and honest as well as being a genuine ‘people person’ who thrives when collaborating with clients, suppliers, trade teams and immediate colleagues, fostering a real ‘working together’ environment. Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveying/ Project Surveying role. Experience of working with schedule of rates (SORs) would be advantageous. Experience of successfully managing a collective value of works up to £3 million pa. A key eye for detail and analysis, identifying areas to save money, reduce costs and maximise value.
