Job Title: Residential Support Worker – Children's Residential Home Location: Duston, NN5 Salary: Up to £24,835.20 per annum (including sleeps) Please Note: This role requires prior experience in a residential children's home setting and a full UK manual driving license. We are looking for a dedicated and caring Residential Support Worker to join our team at a children's home in Duston. In this rewarding role, you will provide essential day-to-day care, supporting young people in a safe, nurturing environment. You will assist with their educational and social development, ensure their wellbeing, and work as part of a committed team to maintain a high standard of care and safety. Key Responsibilities: Provide emotional, social, and practical support to young people in daily activities and routines. Assist with the development of individual care plans, working collaboratively with the team to ensure each young person’s needs are met. Support young people in educational activities and attendance at statutory meetings. Participate in maintaining a clean and safe living environment, including cooking, cleaning, and managing household duties. Promote the welfare and safeguarding of young people, ensuring their emotional and physical safety at all times. Person Specification: Prior experience working in a residential children's home, supporting young people with challenging behaviours. Strong written and verbal communication skills for record-keeping, report writing, and effective team communication. Basic numerical skills for maintaining records and managing daily tasks. Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children and young people, particularly those in care. Knowledge of safeguarding issues, the impact of abuse and neglect, and a commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable children. A proactive team player with the ability to plan and facilitate activities and encourage young people's personal development.
