Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in the educational workshop. The successful candidate will support the delivery of practical engineering courses, ensuring that students have the tools and guidance needed to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workshop Management:
o Maintain and organize the mechanical engineering workshop, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
o Manage inventory and order supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
2. Technical Support:
o Assist faculty and students in the setup and operation of workshop equipment and machinery.
o Provide technical support during practical sessions, demonstrations, and experiments.
3. Maintenance and Repairs:
o Perform routine maintenance and repairs on workshop equipment and machinery.
o Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
4. Health and Safety:
o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices within the workshop.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, and provide safety training to students and staff.
5. Instruction and Guidance:
o Assist in the delivery of practical lessons, workshops, and projects, offering guidance and support to students.
o Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and techniques to students.
6. Collaboration:
o Work closely with faculty members to develop and improve practical course content and resources.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the workshop environment and practices.
