We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife to join the Bronglais midwifery team. Working with a dedicated team of midwives and obstetricians in this unique obstetric unit in West Wales, you will be providing high quality, safe care to women, birthing people, and their families.
A midwife is responsible for their own practice and therefore the post holder will be expected to maintain a high standard of professional expertise and to ensure that the highest standard of midwifery care is given during pregnancy.

This is a permanent vacancy for a band 6 Midwife, with full time working hours available.
Main duties of the job
* Provide professional leadership and mentoring to less experienced midwives and support to colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Provide antenatal care to a defined group of women and their families in the Antenatal clinic setting.
* Co-operate and liaise with all members of staff, the primary health care team, the medical and midwifery staff in the unit to foster team spirit and ensure continuity of care.
* Provide information to the expectant mother to enable her to make informed choices about the place and mode of delivery and services available.
* Advise on Public Health issues, e.g. smoking cessation and breastfeeding promotion.
* Care for and counsel the parents and relatives of babies born with abnormalities or who have been bereaved.
* Be responsible for working in partnership with the woman and her family ensuring they are the primary focus of their practice.
* Keep contemporaneous, detailed records in line with NMC standards and HDUHB record keeping guidelines.
* Midwives have a statutory duty of responsibility to abide by the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional standards of practice and behaviour, and the Controlled Drugs Regulations.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
