We need fashion-savvy volunteers for Threads, our new shop in Hitchin offering exclusively sustainable and pre-loved fashion items.
What you can expect…
We are offering volunteers the opportunity to play a variety of important roles in the successful running of this exciting new enterprise. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and love of fashion with like-minded people. You’ll use your eye for fashion to support the development of this exciting outlet. As a key team member, you’ll learn more about sustainable fashion, build some valuable skills and experience to add to your CV and give back to your local community.
You will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of roles including:
1. Receiving, sorting, valuing and pricing donations
2. Culling and replenishing stock regularly to keep displays fresh
3. Steaming clothes and making them look their best
4. Using the cash till
You'll meet new friends, develop your skills and have lots of fun along the way. By giving your time, you'll be making a huge difference to your community, helping us to raise the £7.7m needed each year so that we can provide care, compassion and support to patients, their families and friends. You'll also be helping to reduce the impact on the environment by providing an affordable, ethical and sustainable alternative to fast fashion.
How you can help…
No previous experience is necessary; this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and love of fashion. We offer flexible shifts across the week of two hours upwards and would love to discuss how we can work together.
