Early Years Quality Improvement Officer
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate: £28 umbrella an hour (£22 PAYE an hour)
Southwark Council are looking for an Early Years Quality Improvement Officer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Identify and provide specialist support and challenge to Private Voluntary and Independent early years settings registered with Ofsted on the Early Years Registered judges as or at risk of being judged as ‘Requires Improvement’ or ‘Inadequate’, with a focus on securing improvement on their next Ofsted inspection
Provide advice, training, challenge and support to all PVI early years settings and childminding practitioners ensuring compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage to develop practice in ensuring children experience high quality, inclusive early years provision, to raise achievement and close the gap in attainment
To provide advice, support and sign posting to enquirers who are interested in setting up new early years childcare provision or in changing/extending current provision to support Southwark’s Childcare Sufficiency duties.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification in early years/education to a minimum of level 3
In-depth understanding of legislation and guidance that related to the early years childcare
Extensive knowledge of child development for children under 5 to support early years settings
In a management capacity within an Ofsted registered early years setting with a history of good or above at inspection
Experience of writing and delivering training and workshops to a variety of audiences
Experience of working with a wide variety of professionals and agencies to improve outcomes for children and families
