Air Liquide is looking for an Indirect Buyer based in Birmingham to join the global team of strategic experts to drive Change Management and ensure the deployment of the Category Strategies.
The centralised Indirect Procurement organisation is working with 2 operational levers - strategic procurement under a team of European Category Management and local strategic buying under two zone buying teams composed of generally one Buyer per country (or group of countries) operating for all of the Air Liquide Business Lines when present in the country. Coordination of the teams is key to ensure proper stakeholder service and each of the two zones are coordinated by an Indirect Buyers’ Manager reporting to the Indirect Procurement Director.
A successful candidate will be operating jointly with a team of European Category Managers and Spot Buyers/ Requisitioners focused on the smaller requests. Your main missions would be to ensure the deployment of the category strategies, and execute the sourcing process for local categories.
Together with the Category Management team you will:
* Deploy European category strategies, ensuring jointly country procurement performance as well stakeholders satisfaction;
* Help define a pipeline of savings ideas, follow up and report on achievements;
* Work closely with countries’ stakeholders (HR/CFOs, Legal, Safety essentially);
* Identify and propose the list of potential suppliers, in line with category strategy defined;
* Launch RFx, analyze offers using TCO approach, make scenarios and propose short list;
* Select supplier and negotiate contracts;
* Manage supplier database & relationships, animate suppliers’ qualification;
* Ensure procurement processes and rules are well abided by.

* Demonstrated previous experience of working in a similar International Strategic Procurement role
* Industry and category expertise
* Strategic planning and strategic sourcing knowledge
* Functional & Value Analysis, (re)-design to cost techniques
* Supplier relationship Management incl. financial analysis
* Cost management, TCO analysis
* Risk management
* Negotiation skills and Contract Management
* Preferred experience with SAP and Wise (online), Excel and PowerPoint
