We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who can work within a small friendly team within our Planned Care Services. We are looking for someone who is extremely passionate about Planned Care and is willing to work towards a changing service.

Main duties of the job
As the Sister within Planned Care you will need to facilitate the Outpatient nursing team to provide safe, effective, responsive and quality care in the Outpatient department across a range of specialities. You will need to provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group.
To deliver compassionate person-centred care, and treat patients, service users, their families and their carers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.
The post holder must be organised, responsive and flexible in coordinating and leading outpatient clinics and supporting specialist Nursing teams.
The post available is at the Paediatric Outpatient Department at Milton Keynes University Hospital and the post holder would be expected to work across all Paediatric areas when required.

* To provide the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care for both the children and their families in line with local and nationally agreed standards and guidelines.
* To holistically assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients within their sphere of responsibility.

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
* RSCN/RN Child
* Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
* Practice/assessor training
* PILS
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications
* Sound knowledge of safeguarding children
* Knowledge of current policies relating to best practice within outpatients
* EPLS
* HDU module or equivalent
* Knowledge of quality issues and clinical governance
Experience
* Evidence of recent appropriate clinical experience
* Experience working within a clinical and/or outpatient environment
* Experience of managing a caseload
* Ability to work under pressure to manage workload and meet deadlines
* Experience of successful change management
Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team
* Ability to develop relevant examination and clinical skills in specialty, to have transferable skills that support this role
* Demonstrates ability to place child and family at the centre of care
* Excellent consultation skills, able to assess, plan and implement care, supporting informed choice and gaining consent
* Good facilitation/ presentation, teaching and assessing skills
* Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise

* Knowledge of relevant quality issues
