Learning and Development:
* Gain hands-on experience by working closely with a qualified mentor who will provide valuable guidance and support
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of various tasks, including replacing tyres and exhaust systems, conducting general maintenance, and servicing duties
* Participate in the essential process of MOT testing and vehicle preparation, honing your skills in ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
* Familiarise yourself with an array of specialised tools and equipment, ranging from basic hand tools to power tools and precision measuring instruments, including tire changing machines
Duties and Tasks:
* Execute brake changes meticulously, prioritising the safety and optimal functionality of the vehicle's braking system
* Carry out oil and filter changes to ensure the engine operates at its peak performance level
* Assist in clutch repairs, ensuring smooth gear changes and efficient vehicle operation
* Engage in comprehensive engine diagnostics to identify and address performance issues effectively
* Master cylinder head replacement techniques for proficient engine repair
* Undertake suspension work and tackle a diverse range of automotive tasks, expanding your skillset and expertise in the field

Your training plan
The Apprenticeship in Autocare Technician consists of:
* Level 2 Standard Autocare Technician
* Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
As part of the apprenticeship programme, attendance is required at our Skills Group training centre for one day per week. All other aspects of the qualification will be delivered on-site by the employer. You will have regular visits every six to twelve weeks from your designated Skills Group assessor, who will monitor your progress during your apprenticeship training.
