We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in Aylesbury. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to elderly residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being of our residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a genuine passion for senior care.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Implement and monitor individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance and support as needed.
Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transportation.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes dignity and respect for all residents.
Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance your skills in senior care.
Requirements
Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with residents empathetically.
Leadership qualities with experience in supervising staff or teams.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
A commitment to providing high-quality care and promoting the well-being of elderly individuals.
