T eacher (Psychology) Permanent Position | MPS/UPS | January 2025 or ASAP The PWR team are working with a well-established and highly regarded secondary school based in Essex. They are looking to recruit a dynamic and passionate Teacher of Social Science, with a specialism in Psychology. Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Psychology, inspiring students to engage with and explore the subject at both Key Stage 4 and 5. You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for every student. This is a permanent, full-time role, and the ideal start date is January 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, depending on availability. The position offers a competitive salary in line with the MPS/UPS pay scale, reflective of experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, effective, and student-centered lessons in Psychology to students across Key Stage 4 and 5. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback to ensure continued academic development. Support the development and implementation of the Social Science curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve the teaching and learning experience. Actively contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities and promoting the ethos of the school. Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, helping them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Person Specification Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A degree in Psychology or a related subject. Proven experience teaching Psychology, ideally at both Key Stage 4 and 5. A passion for the subject and a commitment to delivering outstanding lessons that inspire students. The ability to motivate and challenge students, enabling them to reach their full potential. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
