A MOT & Diagnostic Technician is a member of the Aftersales Team and will report to the Aftersales Manager. The Diagnostic Technician will perform a variety of workshop work in an efficient and safe manner. The aim is to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.

Responsibilities
* Undertake routine servicing of vehicles in accordance with brand technical standards.
* Undertake Class IV MOT tests.
* Perform diagnostic investigations into vehicle electrical system faults, providing reports on faults found.
* Diagnose and undertake general repairs to vehicles including MOT repairs.
* Undertake air-conditioning system servicing and repairs.
* Undertake welding repairs to vehicles.
* Work in accordance with brand and dealership processes.
* Obtain estimates and order car parts in order to resolve vehicle issues.
* Ensure that their immediate working environment is kept clean and devoid of any working practice which may be hazardous to either themselves or others.
* Handle waste products and hazardous materials as per company policies and C.O.S.H.H. regulations.
* Liaise with customers where appropriate updating them on the status of their vehicle checks.
* Able to assimilate information quickly and diagnose the faults.
* Strong work ethic and adaptable to change.
* Attention to detail and maintains good, accurate quality of work.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines to achieve the business needs.
* Able to communicate and work in a team.
Essential & Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* Fluent written and spoken English.
* PC, Microsoft, web literate.
* Proven track record of individual excellence.
* Previous vehicle knowledge and proven skills.
* Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation.
* Previous work experience in a franchise dealership.
* Highly skilled in fault diagnosis.
* Commitment to delivering first class customer service.
* F-Gas trained with certificate.
