Job summary The Hospital IV team is recruiting We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated professional to support the IV specialist practitioner. You will learn the intricacies of IV access, promote vessel health for all patients, undergo a period of training in order to achieve competence to place PICC's and occasional midlines using specialist technology and be able to refer and review chest x-rays for correct line placement. The delivery of formal and informal structured education and training programs is an integral part of the role with the ability to act as an effective role model at all times. You will support the IV lead practitioner to develop the IV strategy ensuring the delivery of high standards around insertion and management of vascular access devices. The IV service sits under the umbrella of the Infection Prevention & Control service team, reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing for IPC. Main duties of the job The successful applicant must show a sound clinical knowledge base, be enthusiastic, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to support others. The post is full time (37.5 hours over 5 days) with the potential for occasional weekend working. Informal visits are welcome.
