Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering project works and contributing significantly to site operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to bring their technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and management skills to a dynamic project team.
In this role, you will work closely with the Project Engineer and the wider project team to ensure successful delivery of projects that meet both client and company expectations. You will also take on technical responsibility for medium-sized projects, leading and supervising a team of Engineers and supporting their professional development.
What you will be doing
Commercial and Contractual
* Identify and manage additional works with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors (QS).
* Implement and oversee commercial systems, ensuring adherence to project financial controls.
Project Delivery and Setting Out
* Establish and maintain primary setting-out control and ensure dimensional compliance.
* Supervise and mentor Engineers, promoting best practices and technical development.
* Utilise CAD software and ground modelling techniques to manage earthworks operations.
Design and Quality Management
* Review and enhance construction designs for buildability and compliance.
* Ensure all quality standards are met through thorough checks and audits.
Environmental and Safety Compliance
* Implement environmental procedures and prepare project environmental plans.
* Maintain strict safety standards, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are followed.
Team Leadership and Coordination
* Manage and supervise engineering teams, subcontractors, and on-site operations.
* Drive team performance, ensure smooth workflows, and resolve technical challenges.
Programme and Resource Management
* Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
* Optimise material requisition, delivery, and usage to control costs and minimise waste.
About you
* A recognised Civil or Structural Engineering qualification at HNC level or above
* Good working technical knowledge
* Good working knowledge of Temporary Works
* Developing Management skills
* Relevant IT skills
* Good communication skills
* SMSTS qualified
* TWC qualified
* Effective problem solver
* Effective at teamwork
