SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1
Immediate start - CAT Grade 3 points 8 - 11
30 hours per week, term time only
Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with their development and learning? Are you keen to develop new skills? Come and join our fantastic team at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School.
We are seeking an adaptable and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated, supportive SEN staff team to support a child who is currently in Year 5. Ideally, you will be experienced in responding to the needs of pupils with SEN, supporting their personalised learning and social development across the day and keen to develop within the role. The role will involve supporting a pupil with specific needs within one of our Early Years classes.
Whilst being a mainstream school, some of our SEN pupils have a wide range of needs, including difficulties with communication, learning and sensory development as well as a diagnosis of autism. These children are often needs led and some follow personalised learning journeys along different curriculum pathways, depending on their individual needs.
Whilst relevant qualifications and experience would be an advantage, they are not essential (please refer to the Teaching Assistant Person Specification). We provide all staff with a comprehensive induction training, which includes Makaton, behaviour and safeguarding training. We are committed to providing aspirational outcomes for all our students and we will provide regular specialist training for all staff.
If you believe that you could make a difference to a child’s education then please apply.
You will be our desirable candidate if:
1. You have experience in supporting children with ASC
2. You thrive working in a friendly team with like-minded people
3. You have a positive sense of humour and attitude
4. You are a clear communicator with adults and children
5. You have English and maths GCSEs A* - C
6. You are a positive role model to all
In return, we can offer you:
1. A friendly and supportive Inclusion Team
2. Opportunities for progression and development through training, coaching and mentoring
3. A healthy work life balance
4. An inclusive environment where you feel valued
5. A supportive leadership team
