We are looking for three Hansard Reporters to join Hansard at the House of Lords. This position is on a part-time, term-time contract for 14.4 hours per week, for 36 weeks of the year (based around the sitting pattern of the House). One post is permanent and the other two are for a fixed term of two years, with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of the House of Lords, reporting on proceedings in the Chamber and Grand Committee. You will also help to produce transcripts from Select Committee meetings.
This role is based on-site at Parliament, although there may be scope for some remote working. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has strong written communication skills that can be applied in a reporting environment, enjoys working at a fast pace and is interested in current affairs and the work of the House of Lords.
You will be accountable for:
1. Producing a substantially verbatim report of parliamentary proceedings in the Chamber, Grand Committee and Select Committees, using a digital audio recording, in accordance with Hansard's terms of reference in Erskine May and our performance criteria and editing guidelines.
2. Logging proceedings in the Chamber, Grand Committee and Select Committees.

4. Delivering at pace: Ability to work quickly and dependably under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Interest in current affairs: Broad general knowledge and a keen interest in current affairs.
6. Willingness to work unsocial hours.
7. Facility with Office 365.
