Teaching Personnel are recruiting for care assistants to work with one of the SEND schools they work closely with in the Colne area. This is a primary provision, providing an alternative setting for those who may not thrive within a mainstream setting. This is a highly inclusive facility, providing education, support, life skills, and care for children with moderate learning difficulties.
The headteacher is seeking a dynamic, dedicated educator who will add value to their school in both academic terms and through involvement in all aspects of school life, even beyond the classroom. The headteacher believes that all support staff are at the forefront of students accessing success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences.
The role
You would be assisting and supporting the care for children within an educational setting. This includes attending to the children’s personal care, administering medication, and ensuring the children are happy and that all their needs are being met. Engaging the children in activities set by the class teacher, as well as applying aids and addressing the children’s sensory needs, will be part of your responsibilities. You would be expected to take part in experiences outside of the classroom such as school trips, training days, and inset days.
