First Bus has a fantastic opportunity for a FlixBus Operations Manager to join our Operations team on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the safe, punctual, reliable and cost-effective delivery of Flix services.
You will act with integrity and role model First Bus values and behaviours (‘our way') across your business area and the broader business; and through effective leadership and stakeholder management, you will ensure the needs of FlixBus, but also local authorities, investors, customers, partners, and colleagues are met.
The Day to Day
* Ensure cost efficient delivery of a safe, punctual service.
* Analyse and manage information, systems and data both retrospectively and proactively to ensure expectations of FlixBus are met.
* Key account manager for FlixBus services covered from the Bristol hub.
* Effective internal relationship manager to ensure service delivery standards are met.
* Ensure compliance with FlixBus service delivery model, protecting the operation against financial penalties linked to poor performance.
* Co-ordination of recruitment and training of drivers to bespoke FlixBus standard.
* Ensures appropriate SOPs and contingencies are in place for ‘out of course' events so that there are identified resources and plans or dealing with issues caused by congestion, driver/vehicle failure and other unexpected events.
* Ensure collaboration between all functional areas responsible for delivering FlixBus services.
* Deliver agreed plans and budgets, including established level of service and service quality.
* Ensure an effective working relationship with recognised trade union representatives and officials.
* Respond to any internal or external reporting requirements as the contract develops.
* Effectively manage the teams in all areas of people management; development, absence management and compliance.
* Oversee delivery of FlixBus and First Bus-specified training to the team.
* Ensure compliance with EU drivers regulations (albeit this role would not be a nominated Transport Manager, but support existing structures).

* Self-reliant and straightforward communicator with skill sets to promote the customer facing business, in a positive light with the capacity to inspire in a structured and encouraging way.
* Aptitude to build and maintain stakeholder relations, indicative of a professional leader.
* Capacity to manage and commute between multi-site operations, providing cover when required.
