Job Title: Specification Sales Manager - Flooring & Interior Products
Industry Sector: A&D, Architects and Interior Designers, Specifiers, Flooring Contractors, Fit-Out Contractors, Education, Building Surveyors, Letting Agents, Estate Management and Local Authorities
Area to be covered: South Yorkshire & East Midlands (LE, DE, DN, HD, LN, NG, S & WF)
Remuneration: £50,000 Neg. + up to £10,000 Uncapped Commission

Role Overview
The role of the Specification Sales Manager Flooring & Interior Products will involve:
1. Field sales role selling a full range of manufactured floor coverings / carpet tiles
2. Promoting approx. 20% fibre bonded carpet and 80% structure bonded & tufted carpet as well as three new ranges of FRS (full repeatable scroll)
3. Selling into predominantly architects and interior designers (A&D), but also: fit-out contractors, property developers, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management, local authorities and main contractors
4. Working alongside another trade field sales professional responsible for account managing direct flooring contractor accounts in the area
5. Inheriting a mature area performing well against budget expectations in recent years
6. Targeted to achieve £2.5m+ between the 2 field sales professionals on the area
7. New business position, although there will be a healthy project bank to inherit
8. Targeting commercial buildings such as office blocks as well as the education sector: schools, universities & colleges and a small amount of healthcare
9. Utilising ABI leads and in-house CRM database
10. Project sizes from 500m2 up to 15,000m2, typically £5,000-£200,000 project value
11. Promoting new products via FRS machine (full repeat scroll)
Ideal Applicant Profile
The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager Flooring & Interior Products with:
1. A proven track record of selling into the architects or interior designers (A&D) specification marketplace
2. Ideally from the flooring/ carpet industry
3. Open to interior products such as: wall coverings, fabric, ceiling, partitioning or furniture
4. Contacts within fit-out contractors, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management and local authorities are not essential
5. Tactile sales background rather than technical, sold something aesthetically pleasing, ideally flooring related
6. Carpet knowledge not essential
7. Team player
8. Energy, passion and enthusiasm
9. Strong commercial and presentation skills
